Library Rules and Regulation

  • Adherence to Islamic values and ethical principles is mandatory within the library premises.
  • All faculty members, students, and staff of the university are members of the central library.
  • Possession of a staff ID card for faculty members and staff, and a student ID card for all students is required. 
  • Terms and conditions of using theses and dissertations

  • Free access to bibliographic information and abstracts of theses and dissertations is provided to faculty and students of Khatam University.
  • Free access to the full text of authorized and non-confidential masters’ theses after 12 months and authorized and non-confidential doctoral dissertations after 18 months from the defense date is available to faculty and students of Khatam University.
  • Photocopying (copying, printing) of theses by users is prohibited and against the regulations.
  • Study Hall Regulations
  • Silence, peace, order, cleanliness (hygiene of the study hall) must be observed.
  • The study hall is intended for the use of Khatam University students; therefore, carrying a student ID card is mandatory and you must present it upon request.
  • The use of study hall by other individuals is permitted only with a written authorization specifying their full details, duration of use, and ID card (with the coordination of the head of the Central Library and the university security department).
  • Each person is only allowed to use a space the size of one desk and chair. Please refrain from placing items on shelves, or on desks and chairs adjacent to your own.
  • Upon leaving, please collect all your belongings and take them out of the study hall. (Items left behind will be collected if the regulations are not followed.)
  • To maintain peace for yourself and other students, please refrain from making noise (talking on the phone, listening to audio files, eating, consuming snacks such as chips, seeds, etc.).
  • Food items left in the study hall or on desks will be collected and discarded daily for the sake of cleanliness and hygiene of the study hall.
  • Bringing items such as blankets, pillows, clothing, sports equipment, and similar items into the study hall is strictly prohibited.
  • All items, including books, cups, spoons, food dishes, bags, etc., left in the study hall or on desks will be collected daily and delivered to the university security department. In case of loss, the library and security staff will not be held responsible.
  • Regulations regarding the late return of borrowed materials and resources
  • Failure to renew or return borrowed materials or resources by the due date, as indicated on the return date, is considered a delay.
  • A late fee of 300 Toman will be charged for each day of delay.
  • Regulations Regarding Lost or Damaged Library Materials
  • In the case of loss or damage to any informational resource or equipment, the cost of the latest edition of the lost or damaged item, plus the cost of its preparation, will be charged to the responsible individual.
  • Damaged informational resources must be returned to the library according to the regulations.
  • Regulations Regarding the Borrowing and Renewal of Borrowed Resources
  • Renewal and checking the status of borrowed items of each member can be done online. If you do not have internet access, you can call the Central Library to renew your books.
  • Borrowing and removing reference books, periodicals, and their supplements from their receptive sections is prohibited.
