Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to investigate whether Leitner System (G5) is beneficial for vocabulary learning. To accomplish the purpose of the study, first 110 Iranian female young adult EFL students studying in grade one at Karaj Alborz high school were selected. Second, a KET test was administrated to establish the homogeneity of the students. The homogeneity of the groups was confirmed through the statistical technique of independent samples t-test which showed that the four classes were homogenous in terms of their language proficiency prior to the treatment. Then, the subjects were divided into two groups: two classes were assigned to the experimental group and the other two functioned as the control group. Later, after 10 weeks of working with Leitner Box (G5) and the prepared G-Bargs (prepared flashcards) by the experimental group and only the vocabulary instruction without using Leitner Box by the control group, all the students took the Post-test. An independent samples t-test was run on the means of the groups. The results showed a significant difference between the means to the benefit of the experimental group. This result vividly depicted the fact that the treatment was effective and that the subjects in the experimental group - who worked with Leitner Box (G5) - outperformed the control group on the post-test. These findings demonstrate that Leitner Box (G5) has a significant effect on vocabulary learning of the learners. So Leitner Box (G5) is an effective system for learning vocabulary.
